Last week I ran across a strange phenomenon, during the setup of a new StorSimple device at a customer’s location. I did all the settings, but somewhere half-way the setup of the device, the User Interface suddenly started to slow me down. It became close to unresponsive. The reports didn’t show anything out of the ordinary, storage, memory and CPU were almost not utilized at all.

It was then when I realized that the engineer of the customer I was visiting told me that his networking colleagues didn’t have the time yet to enable all required internet traffic. A day later the customer e-mailed me that the internet connection for the StorSimple device was up and running and the User Interface was performing like it’s snappy self again…
