Yesterday (octobre 10th 2013) Microsoft released the Hyper-V Recovery Manager (HVRM) for users of Windows Azure. This product has reached the GA status (General Availability). With this solution, companies and IT departments can facilitate and orchestrate the Protection and recovery of private cloud based environments. image

You can used the HVRM service to protect important services in your IT environment, by coordinating replication and recovery of System Center managed private clouds to a Secondary location.

Automatic Protection

System Center 2012 Virtual Machine Manager private clouds can be protected throught the automation of replication of virtual machines to a Secondary location. The continuous near-synchronous replication process of each virtual machine is managed by Hyper-V replica and checked by the Hyper-V Recovery Manager.

Orchestrated Recovery

HVRM makes sure your recovery takes place in an automated and constant manner. This recovery procedure ensures, in case of a power failure in the data center, business-critical virtual machines are put back into production in an orchestrated manner. Similar procedures can be performed to test recovery procedures, or the temporary shift of services towards another location; on-premise, with an IT Service Provider, or at a location of a Public Cloud provider.
